  In January-September 2008 [by the date of writing this article] Ukraine’s logistics market featured growth index – nearly +8%, like-for-like; to compare: the same period in Europe showed as few as +3%, and such index is re-peatable for the last several years. The earlier forecast production sector’s +8% and retail’s +10% trends promised a lot for the local logistics. However, the global crisis – to affect (despite multiple objective declarations)Ukraine’s economy, which had been standing from the knees and ignited to integrate in global business environment after joining the WTO – has forced the market players to, at least many, put an initiative on hold.

  Logistics of Alcoholic Products

  The alcoholic drinks market is remarkable with its continuous dynamic change, contributed to by governmental resolutions, appearance of new players and brands, and strong and costly marketing activities (heavy ad campaigns, sponsorships, presentations and tastings, shows and events, and regular in-store activities of manufacturers). And it does not appear quote easy to follow all the ongoing trends, even now that we are approaching a high season. Fortunately, the present-day market realities are inevitably pulling us from those times that a business was built up under ‘do-it-yourself’ principle: assess, produce, deliver, sell, and serve.

  Nearly 75 % of logistics complexes under project designing currently are located nearby major transportation routes to the Western side of Kyiv and in Kyiv Oblast. Among the most popular regions is the Brovary District: here we have less traffic on the roads, compared to other international highways, the location is quite close to the so-called ‘smaller’ Kyiv, and here we have prospects for development of the second ring road.
